The Open Regulatory Compliance (ORC) Working Group is an open community, and we warmly welcome individuals and organisations to participate in our activities through mailing lists, community calls, events, and collaborative projects. We believe that robust and effective regulatory compliance frameworks are best built through public, collective effort, and we invite contributors of all backgrounds and experience levels to join us and help shape the future of this initiative.
What is the difference between participation and formal membership?
Participation is open to all individuals and allows you to contribute to technical projects, discussions, and events. Formal membership is intended for organisations that want to take an active leadership role in shaping the strategic direction of the ORC Working Group, and these financial contributions sustain the broader ecosystem activities.
Do I need to become a formal member to participate in the ORC Working Group?
No, participation is completely open to all individuals through our open channels. There is no requirement to become a paying member of the working group to take part in our activities.
Anyone can engage with the community immediately by visiting our Get involved page, where you can access our:
- Public Calendar: Stay up to date on all upcoming community calls, workstreams, and events.
- Public Mailing List: Join the conversation, ask questions, and share insights with the ecosystem.
- Public Workspace: Access and contribute directly to our open specifications and technical projects.
Why does ORC have paid membership tiers?
The working group offers various membership tiers to help sustain our broader operations. These corporate and organisational contributions fund essential ecosystem activities—such as hosting events, driving marketing and awareness campaigns, and providing professional stewardship for the project.
While these paid memberships keep the initiative sustainable, formal membership is never a requirement to participate, contribute, and fully engage with the ORC community.
More details about our membership types can be found in our charter, but if you have any questions, fill out this form, and we will help you to understand the different types of membership and opportunities associated with them.
Why should my organisation join as a member?
While technical contributions are open to everyone, formal membership elevates your organisation to an active leader in defining the future of software compliance.
If you are interested in becoming a member contact us through the become a member page and our team will help you to understand which category suits you the best.
Are there different membership tiers?
Yes, the ORC Working Group offers several membership tiers designed for various organisation types. You can find more specific details about each tier in our charter or by contacting us through the become a member page.
