The Steering Committee guides the strategic direction and governance of the Open Regulatory Compliance Working Group, ensuring that our collective efforts align with the group’s mission to support open source communities in navigating evolving regulatory landscapes. As the governing body of the working group, the Steering Committee sets strategy, defines scope, oversees the specification roadmap, and ensures effective coordination among members. It is responsible for the charter, establishing annual work and financial plans, and providing leadership to advance open specifications and best practices that help organisations meet regulatory requirements, such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act, while sustaining innovation across the open source supply chain.
Steering Committee membership is structured to ensure balanced representation across all membership classes. Each Strategic Member appoints one representative. Participant Members and Foundation Members elect their representatives, with seats allocated proportionally based on the number of members in each tier.
